Diane initially came to yoga fifteen years ago for the same reason she returns to it today; an anchor to help steady the mind in stressful times, release physical tension and nurture a sense of awareness, connection to the self and in turn others. Her yoga training path has mirrored the changes in her life. In October 2006, she graduated from the Yoga Teacher Training Programme with the Simon Low Yoga Academy as a British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) Accredited Teacher and is also a Yoga Alliance Professionals accredited Senior Yoga Teacher.
From this foundation Hatha training, she has studied in depth with Françoise Barbira Freedman PhD of The Birthlight Foundation, obtaining diplomas in Pre and Postnatal Yoga and Baby Yoga. Her more recent avenues of training have been in Restorative Yoga with Judith Hanson-Lasater, who she trains with yearly and yoga for women’s health and vitality and Yoga Nidra with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli.
Diane's style is open and honest, sharing tips and anecdotes, as she stands alongside her students, fostering a sense of compassion and community with humility and humour. Above all, Diane wants students to feel welcome to be themselves and enjoy a sense of space to slow down and let go.
This course helped me to feel mentally, physically and emotionally prepared for birth. Diane offers a lovely blend of providing information, giving us yoga and breathing activity and helping us form a positive, empowered mindset towards the birth experience. Highly recommended!!
